from Robin Lovelock on Monday 1st May 2023: here below is the rough cut video on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YqGMMBk983I&t=4 which is a 31 minute rough cut video, shot by June and Robin Lovelock, of the 2023 Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race, that started at 1230 on Monday 1st May. You can see that everyone enjoyed themselves - particularly the little children and grumpy old men and women :-) Proceeds go into charity, such as the Ascot Rotary Club. Robin starts this video with several minutes, of his standard introduction, walking down their front drive at 22 Armitage Court in Sunninghill - pointing out things that might bring a smile or two. After this Youtube video is public, on Robin's Youtube channel, it will probably be added to his "Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race" page on www.gpss.co.uk/wheelbar.htm Youtube has already processed the video to provide automatic subtitles, and translation into any language. Well Done Youtube Guys ! Robin has many friends, near and far, and some enjoy seeing what the Sunninghill folk get up to ;-)
2nd May 2023: for those few interested, the 2 minute video on the right, shows the GPS Track, in 3D, of our walk to see the race and back. But the important video is below :-)
From Robin on Thursday 19th May 2022: Sorry Folks ! Just the video ... but you will see that our Queen took part :-)
Start of 2019: the New Year's Day Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race: Robin and June's 11 Minute Youtube video. Enjoy :-)
From Robin Lovelock: A lot has happened in the three years since June and I took photos at the 2016 Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race, and I threw together this page - it seems to promote the Grumpy Old Man propaganda on my Grumpy page :-)
Our most significant event, reported in newsletters on my Family page, was the passing away of wife June's father, Jack Ponsford , as "bright as a button", aged nearly 98. See also the Sunninghill page, for stuff Jack told me.
This year, all I've put up is this 11 minute Youtube video, and a photo Steve Behr, of Armitage Court, took of myself and Patrick Peters of Murray Court. Click on us for the whole photo. If you like push-bikes, see Steve's stockfile.co.uk . You may also enjoy the AMRA page :-)
2016 Sunninghill Wheelbarrow Race
Last update Sunday 3rd January 2016
What do you expect ? A blooming miracle ? :-)
Journalists: please familiarise yourselves with my Grumpy Book :-)
Robin on New Year's Day: I was up at 11am, late, but earlier than the other three women in the house. Jack looks good, on his web cam, sat watching the BBC TV News of Dubai fire and fireworks, etc. I took June up a cup of tea, while she soaked in the bath. I thought "MAYBE some will be up in time to watch the Sunninghill Wheelbarrow race, that starts at midday". June was, and we both enjoyed our walk around Sunninghill Village, taking photos of almost everyone, going past familiar landmarks, including where pubs like The Three Jays, once had been. I remember taking June to a dance there, in 1970, and being a bit annoyed, because she had one dance with another bloke. We got back at 2pm, after popping in to see Jack, and giving him the route map, and print outs of several pictures, before our printer ran dry again.
Scroll through these pictures, and if you recognise yourself or loved ones, copy and/or print them, for friends and family.
Everyone, including Journalists: Please include "Robin's Grumpy Book on
www.gpss.co.uk/grumpy.htm
".
Familiarise yourself with the contents of the Grumpy Book.
If you can then "spread the word", that's better still :-)
Thanks to some nifty camera work by June, we have

It was a lot more relaxing taking the piccys compared with taking part :-)
The rest is from my "Contact" page ....
Hi ! I'm Robin Lovelock, and little has changed on this "Contact" page for many years, other than the recent photo of me on the left. I'm a "Grumpy Old Man", born in 1947, and always pleased to get your email.
I like to start conversations with an exchange of emails, so we both know a little about each other, before we speak on the telephone or face-to-face. In the past 20+ years that I've been doing this, I've built up a huge network of friends in over 150 countries. Over 10,000 of these have used my GPS Software. So, wherever you are in the World, I may know someone within walking distance of you :-)
I retired over 10 years ago, but still help those who use my GPS Software. However, in recent years, many who contact me are interested in my Snoopy's Robot Boat hobby, or "doing good" related to my charity interests, such as NHSCare.info in the UK, or even one or more topics on Grumpy page. I prefer direct email communication, and not via social networking sites, such as Facebook, Twitter and Google+.
To e-mail me, click on robin@gpss.co.uk or gpss@compuserve.com. My emails are received by the desktop PC in my Study. I do NOT have a smartphone :-) I often hear emails coming in, so you may get a quick reply. Where possible, please contact me, Robin, by e-mail before making a 'phone call. You may contact June or myself on +44 1344 620775 - between 0800 and 2030 UK time, any day of the working week. If you are lucky, you may also catch us in at the weekend. If another member of the family or an answer-machine takes your call, please leave your name, reason for calling, country, and a telephone number. When away from home and office, Robin is contactable on mobile +44 7736 353404. If you 'phone, please be prepared to give your e-mail address, so I can pick up the conversation where it left off.
Our home and office address is : Sunninghill Systems, 22 Armitage Court, Sunninghill, Ascot, Berks SL5 9TA, United Kingdom.
You can see us on Google Maps by clicking here You can see the entrance to Armitage Court on Google maps streetview here If you wish to visit, please email then ring us first.
If you have doubts about providing information about yourself, you may read more about us on our family page. We've lived here in Sunninghill since 1981, and hope to be here a good while longer :-)
You will probably have noticed that this web site is extremely "up front" about who we are. Giving people permission to use GPSS does not require huge resources. I have worked in larger companies and on larger projects than most people, and have no need to pretend what we are not. I greatly respect others who are able to be equally "up front" about themselves and their own business - however small it is. So don't be shy :-)
If this GPSS.co.uk is important to you: www.gpss.co.uk is hosted on user28153.vs.easily.co.uk and www.tsogpss.co.uk.gridhosted.co.uk <- remember these. The old hosting on www.gpss.force9.co.uk was to end in January 2015. Your browser is on

From Robin: It's very convenient for me, that there are so few visitors to this page: just those given the link. See map and words near end of my Home page ;-)
The visit counters may give a rough indication on who else is visiting, or has visited, this page. I don't hide or disguise my visits, but they may appear as "Ascot", or miles away, like "Redhill, England" (on my Lounge PC), or "Southall, England" ( on the Study PC). Positions may not be accurate, but times are. These may change at any time, without control by me. e.g. if we have a power cut, or I reboot a router. So, you may see if I'm "working" in the Study, or "playing" in Lounge :-)
Not all visits are seen, and some browsers hide location, but you may find Revolvermaps livestats for Wheelbarrow Race page interesting.
The video on the right shows several guys visiting at the same time, after I posted the link to the Covid19 page on the Microtransat forum :-)
