The Obelisk by Robin and June

Location: N 51° 25.444 W 000° 35.855 Difficulty: 1 Terrain: 1

The Obelisk Geocache is a lovely walk from the car park of The Savill Garden. Your clue is "beside a seat". It is a tupperware box full of the usual Lovelock "goodies" including disposable camera, toys, etc. Unfortunately it may be difficult to find free parking, since this is a popular spot on most days. The Savill Garden car park requires you to pay £2 on exit. If you don't have the coins on you, and the shop is open, buy a map like I did to get some change :-) The map will be helpfull if you decide to take a long walk south, past the Obelisk Pond, around the large Virginia Water Royal Lake, to find other geocache and visit landmarks like The Cascade and The Ruins. The Robin pub is out that way, south of Virginia Water Lake also :-) This whole area is a great place to walk - or cycle. Parents often choose to walk, letting the kids let off energy on their (tri)cycles. The Totem Pole is only a few minutes walk, and marks the northern edge of Virginia Water Royal Lake.
